I chose to focus on climate because it is the most visible and most urgent environmental problem we have. But it is just the tip of the iceberg. The climate is changing because we are destroying the environment, and fighting climate change requires stopping and reversing this process. You can't have one without the other.

To fight climate change, we must stop deforestation. Doing so will preserve biodiversity and natural habitats for people and animals.

We must also stop burning fossil fuels. This will improve air quality and reduce respiratory diseases in our cities. When we stop producing these fuels we will also stop environmental degradation caused by oil spills, tar sand exploration, fracking, etc.

We must reduce meat production and consumption, too. This will not only improve our diets and our health but it will reduce the area needed to produce animal feed, reducing the amount of water wasted by irrigation.

And so on. On the long run, this will save us money, improve our health, and even make our communities better places to live.
